Summary of 2025
Each year, I make a point of reviewing the images I’ve created over the past twelve months and selecting a set of highlights that represent my favourite photographs. Looking back now, I feel as though I’ve had a particularly strong year. I’m really pleased that I set aside dedicated time to focus on personal projects such as Chalklands, as well as taking a day out in London to capture some street photography.
Land
This first group of images focuses on my landscape work. Over time, I’ve noticed myself drifting further away from overtly dramatic scenes. Instead, I’m increasingly drawn to softer pastel tones, unusual shapes within the landscape, natural patterns, and quieter, more subtle moments.

Chalklands
This marks the beginning of a project focused on the textures and unique characteristics of the South Downs landscape. The work comes from spending time outdoors — walking, looking closely, and wanting to hold on to the experience of being with this landscape.
Rather than keeping the photograph flat, I’ve been reshaping prints to reflect the land itself: tearing along chalk lines, folding with the ridges of the hills, or crumpling to echo the cliffs. These simple actions bring out the fragility and texture of chalk, turning the print into something closer to an object from the landscape rather than just an image of it.
I intend to either continue developing this series throughout 2026 or use it as a starting point for creating new abstract works from my photography.

Street Photography
Here, I’ve leaned into high-contrast, film-like scenes, often filled with movement, strong shadows, and unusual shapes. At times, I found myself more drawn to street photography and capturing people than to landscapes.
Street Portraits
Here are a few of my favourite street portraits from 2025. I’m glad to finally feel more comfortable approaching strangers and asking if I can make their portrait — something that has opened up a new and rewarding way of working.
Interiors
Somewhat surprisingly, property commissions made up a large part of my work last year. Several of these were extremely beautiful homes and a real joy to photograph. I was also asked to create a video for a high-end property, which turned out well, so perhaps videography is something I’ll explore further in 2026.
Festivals and Events
This final section showcases a selection of festival images, which are always a joy to be part of, alongside work from Glow Wild at Wakehurst, a proposal commission, and a wedding event on a steam train. Who knows what 2026 will bring.
