2022 Photography Highlights

It’s quite a challenge to review a year's worth of photographs and whittle it down to such a small selection of highlights, particularly when my image library for 2022 divides into around 80 images per day. I've left out a fair few goodies, but I didn't want to make this post too overwhelming.

Landscapes

Here are a selection of my favourite landscape photographs. As always I wanted to capture the light and textures of the landscape, unique weather conditions and seasonal floral displays.

Interiors and unique stays

Throughout the year I worked with several property and homestay companies. Often capturing impressive spaces, homes for sale and wonderful gardens too.

Events and festivals

One of my most loved commissions year after year is photographing a handful of family-friendly festivals and illuminated gardens. These are always uplifting and I often have the opportunity to take my family with me, which is always a real treat. I also photographed a handful of weddings, the hill climb rally in Firle and a number of one-off events at Knepp, BCC Countryfile and Brighton College.

Street

I didn't have many street photography days in 2022, however, on every occasion I found it a great remedy for inspiration. I enjoy the freedom of street photography and the constant search for interesting characters, colours, shapes, emotions and movement.

ICM and multiple-exposure

For years I've taken ICM photographs, yet never delved into the world of multiple exposures. During 2022 I experimented in different environments to create these abstract images that have a certain feel and fine-art quality to them. I love how creative this genre of photography is and how you can express your personality or a mood through a photograph.
