Seaford Head - Photography Workshop
Seaford Head Photography Workshop (3-hour session)
Join me for an inspiring 3-hour photography adventure along one of England’s most spectacular stretches of coastline – Seaford Head. From dramatic cliffs to sweeping sea views, this workshop combines stunning scenery with practical, hands-on camera guidance.
What we’ll explore
We’ll start at South Hill Barn, where parking makes it easy to begin our walk without tiring our legs. After a brief introduction covering camera basics and composition, we’ll head towards the cliffs and our first vantage point. Along the way, I’ll guide you through:
Composition, the rule of thirds, and spotting interesting subjects
Using aperture, shutter speed, and other manual settings effectively
How to make frequently photographed landscapes feel fresh and unique
We’ll have the opportunity to explore Hope Gap Beach, before continuing to one of England’s most iconic sights – the Seven Sisters cliffs and the famous Fishermen’s Cottages. Here, we’ll experiment with perspective, framing, and light to create compelling images of this world-famous landscape.
During the session, we’ll test cameras in full manual mode, capturing both the cliffs and shoreline in the best light. Wildlife is also a highlight along this stretch of the Cuckmere River, including egrets, kingfishers, oystercatchers, and gulls – perfect for incorporating movement and life into your shots.
Finally, we’ll make our way back along the coast as the sun sets, hoping to capture the sky ablaze with colour over the sea.
Who it’s for
This workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels – from beginners to more experienced shooters looking to explore full manual control. We keep the group small (maximum 8 participants) to ensure plenty of personal guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
What you’ll walk away with
By the end of the session, you’ll:
Feel confident using your camera in manual mode for landscapes and wildlife
Have a set of images capturing the dramatic cliffs, coastline, and wildlife
Gain practical skills in composition, light, and creative framing
Leave inspired with new ideas for exploring your camera and the outdoors
